Rosehip Oil
INCI: rosa canina fruit oil
Rosehip seed oil (Rosa canina/moschata) supplies linoleic and α-linolenic acid (essential fatty acids), trans-retinoic acid traces, and carotenoids — a combination with documented benefit for scars, stretch marks, and post-acne marks in clinical studies. Its linoleate content helps normalise the sebum of acne-prone skin rather than clog it. At 5–100% (pure or blended) it regenerates, softens, and evens tone. Use cold-pressed, fresh stock — it oxidises quickly and should be refrigerated. Apply 2–3 drops at night, ideally over damp skin. One of the best-evidenced plant oils for repair and regeneration, with genuinely skin-identical fatty-acid logic.
