Prickly Pear Seed Oil

Prickly pear seed oil — pressed from Opuntia seeds at extremely low yield — is among the most expensive plant oils, and its chemistry explains why: the highest vitamin E content of any cosmetic oil, exceptionally high linoleic acid (~60%), sterols, and betalain antioxidants. It nourishes the barrier, fights oxidative stress, and softens fine dryness lines while remaining light enough for combination skin. At 1–5% in serums or pure in tiny doses it revitalises dull, dry, mature skin. Cold-pressed, first-press quality is essential — heat processing destroys its delicate actives.
