Myristoyl Nicotinate
INCI: myristoyl nicotinate
Myristoyl nicotinate is a lipophilic prodrug of nicotinic acid (niacin) designed to deliver vitamin-B3-type benefits — improved barrier, reduced transepidermal water loss, brightening — without niacin’s notorious flushing. The fatty-acid tail improves penetration through the stratum corneum, and studies document stratum-corneum thickening and moisture improvement with continued use. At 1–5% it appears in advanced anti-aging and barrier serums. It complements plain niacinamide rather than replacing it. A smart piece of delivery chemistry: old vitamin, new coat, better behaviour.
