Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid
INCI: sodium hyaluronate
Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (under ~500 kDa) penetrates beyond the surface film into the epidermis, hydrating from within and stimulating the skin’s own hyaluronan synthesis with continued use. Unlike pure high-MW HA, which smooths instantly but stays on top, low-MW HA builds longer-term plumping and elasticity. Serums combining low and high molecular weights deliver both immediate and sustained effect — the current best practice. At 0.1–1% it suits all skin types. Apply on damp skin and seal with cream; in dry climates an unsealed humectant can pull water back out.
