Ferulic Acid
INCI: ferulic acid
Ferulic acid is a phenolic antioxidant found in rice bran and oats with a remarkable dual talent: it neutralises free radicals directly and dramatically stabilises vitamins C and E — doubling their photoprotective synergy in the classic C+E+F combination. Research on this trio showed significant reduction of UV-induced oxidative damage and thymine dimers. Ferulic acid is also mildly anti-inflammatory and, absorbed into the stratum corneum, continues working after application. At 0.5–1% it turns a good vitamin C serum into a great one. Slight yellowing of the formula over time is normal and harmless. Morning use under sunscreen is the evidence-based slot for this quiet hero.
