Bisabolol
INCI: bisabolol
Bisabolol is the principal active of chamomile essential oil — available as natural (from candeia tree) or synthetic levomenol. It is a proven anti-inflammatory that reduces redness and irritation, speeds healing of damaged skin, and even enhances penetration of other actives. At 0.2–1% it calms reactive, sun-stressed, or retinoid-irritated skin and improves the tolerability of stronger formulas — formulators use it as a built-in soothing system. Non-sensitising and gentle enough for baby care. Especially valuable in after-sun, post-peel, and sensitive-skin products where comfort itself is the therapeutic goal.
