Beta-Glucan
INCI: beta glucan
Beta-glucan is a polysaccharide from yeast, oats, or mushrooms with moisturising capacity comparable to hyaluronic acid plus clinically documented soothing and wound-healing properties. It stimulates macrophage activity in the skin, accelerating repair, reducing redness, and calming reactive or post-procedure complexions. Oat beta-glucan underlies the traditional soothing reputation of colloidal oatmeal. At 0.5–2% it hydrates, softens fine lines, and fortifies the skin’s immune defence. Unlike many actives it is virtually impossible to overuse. Excellent for sensitive, eczema-prone, or retinoid-irritated skin, and a quiet hero in Korean soothing lines and post-laser care alike.
